applying as first year student or transfer

Postby brunoreis9697 » Sat, 18 Jun 2016 02:25:03 -0500

I'm a 19yo Brazilian student and i plan on applying to an american university this year but i have a rather uncommon problem, I'm enrolled in a brazilian university (unesp) and i was supposed to be finishing my first semester as a economics major but the university is on strike and i might not complete even this first semester by the time i get any answer from colleges i plan on applying to. I also do not intend on transfering any credit or grades (not that i have any so far), so taking the information above should i consider myself a transfer or a first year student when registering on the common app and in general ?
