Master Economics at ANU or UQ?

Postby geronimo » Wed, 01 Apr 2015 11:00:35 -0500

Hello, I am a final year undergraduate BSc Economics student in the UK.
I applied and received a conditional offer for two masters:
-Master of Applied Econometrics (University of Queensland)
-Master of Applied Economics (Australian National University)

My problem is that I have to choose between these two courses and I do not know much about them.
I am aware that the ANU is a better university, but what about the reputation of the department of economics?
Brisbane looks a much better city being in the north and on the coast, is life much different in the two cities?
If my dream is to live in Queensland, is it better to have a master from a university of that state or it is indifferent the location of your studies?
Do you know anyone who has done any of these two master programs?

Thank you
