Postby suheir » Wed, 17 Oct 2012 03:28:16 -0500

hi :D

my name is suheir. i'm planning on pursuing my masters degree in geotechnical engineering in canada. i currently have in mind mcgill or concordia universities. i graduate this summer and in order to study abroad i need a loan. but i have no idea if they give loans for international students in canada considering that my only possible cosigner is living in the US. So can someone please tell me if this is possible and probably give me names of some banks i could refer to because the banks i searched for on the web do not give out loans for international students. thanks in advance :)

Since you are not eligible for the student loan in Canada, the other way to get financial aid is through Scholarships and Grants.

Check out International Education Financial Aid http://www.iefa.org to see which scholarships and grants are able to help you!

Hello,
I am Rigel from India.I am planning to pursue my MBA in US(California/Los Angeles/Florida) for 1 year. I am currently working in IBM India Ltd as an Application Developer. I have 2.5 years of experience in IBM. My tuition fee and living cost comes around $65000. I am ready to pay some amount on behalf of cosigning the loan. Can you please share me the information regarding the US cosigner you were searching for. Can you please give me any contact who was ready to be a cosigner or any consultancies which assist in getting US cosigner or the cosigner who might have helped you. It would be great to hear from you . Waiting for your reply. Thanks in advance.

You know, finding a cosigner is the hardest thing in the world. I am an international student in Canada and most of the banks offer a loan named student line of credit. for an international student, having a cosigner is required. the problem of finding a cosigner is not only he/she is fully responsible for paying off each month (if u don't pay ogg the loan, the cosigner must do that), but also bigger issue is, this loan goes to his/her credit too and if the cosigner wants to get another loan for a car, house, ... , he/she basically cannot do that because he/she has already a loan that must be pay off first. So, only close relatives might be a cosigner.
