APPLIED TO ONLY TWO COLLEGES NOW I HAVE F1 VISA INTERVIEW.

Postby lulu9491 » Sat, 09 Mar 2013 02:15:23 -0500

Hi guys,

I want to study as an international student in the U.S. I applied to two colleges and recently got accepted to the first one. My question is, does the fact that both colleges are in NY city lower my chances of obtaining an f1 visa? I mean, I actually WANT to attend a university in New York and no intend to become someone illegal or anything like that. How can I possibly say or/and show the visa officer that proves that I, in fact, really want to pursue a degree in New York? Shouldn't choosing a college be personal? For instance, If I like New York state over all of the other states in the U.S. then It would make sense to only look for colleges/universities IN New York ONLY? my list got narrowed to 2 colleges because those are the ones I can afford, plus they suit my needs.

PLEASE HELPPPPPPPP!!! I don't want to go through ALL that hassle of applying to random universities elsewhere in the U.S. just to make it less suspicious for the visa officer! I have no intend whatsoever in staying after I earn my degree.

I like NY a lot. It attracts me a lot. Now, I know that that is not a valid reason, but the program I want to pursue is in New York, so why go to a state that I am not interested in that have my program, when another state HAVE my program of interest AND I like the place.

Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee helpppp with any advice/experience you can provide! Visa interview is soooonnnnn!!

The first trick to passing your F1 visa interview is knowing what kinds of questions to expect.

Just be true to yourself in the interview. Show to them that you really desire to study abroad.
