Cheap international calls for students

Postby jonnyT » Fri, 23 Oct 2009 03:52:33 -0500

As a student with financial aid myself I have found it hard at times but one thing that has helped me is being able to call home to talk to friends and family to keep my spirits up.

I have found this really cheap and easy to use service called FooCall that I'd like to tell everyone about. They offer really cheap international calls to students and give then their first call free.

You can sign up for free and you can use any phone including any landline, any mobile, an iphone or your computer to make international calls with FooCall.

Has anyone heard or this service or anything better??

I found Talk'n'Save to be a great company. It was cheap, free incoming calls from anywhere in the world and cheap outgoing calls.

The best part was, the customer service was really good.

Extremely Cheap international calls for students

Postby NatashaMazhar » Wed, 16 Dec 2009 07:57:38 -0500

I am a Pakistani student studying in the UK, I have found Map your Number which saves me lots of money on calling my friends and family abroad. It only costs me 5PPM and I recieve a really clear and highest quality connection.

I have tried Rebtel too before and have found that it was a very poor connection and disconnected quite a lot. Go to Mapyournumber(DOT)co(Dot)uk to make cheap International phone calls.

Hi I am also an international student and make calls abroad always. I am always looking for cheap and free international calls as a call home very often. I found nsacuk(dot)com are offering buy one card get another absolutely free for international students and their rates are really cheap. Whenever I call customer service there is always someone available too. Its great and thought I should share with all here. They have many cool features which I found out when I contacted customer support.

I suggest for students to use instant messaging for calling their love ones. Just wait for them to be online and you can talk for free. Instead of spending your allowance in call cards or pay phones. Well maybe you can call once a week but thats it.

Hi, I'm Zhang from China and I'm foreign student in UK. I agree with ZXT about using skype, it is free, but everybody will agree that it is not comfortable...Internet and PC are not available for everyone and you can't make call in every time :) I was using Skype before but now it is easier for me to make calls by voip service. I use and it is really cheap - 1 p/m. I can call whenever I want and for now, I don't know better rate for international calls. Maybe the disadvantage is that the line sometimes is busy and the number is not available. Till now I had two or three bad attempts for call. If you know better provider or another way for international calls, suggest some. cheers :)

I use Skype, too, and it's the best solution I thing. Well, you have to have a computer for being able to use it, but if you call from Skype account to Skype account you don't pay anything. And you also can use a webcam!

Try foocall(dot)com, they have really cheap international call rates - and you can use your mobile/iphone/landline or pc. There's plenty of options out there, it's just a case of finding the one that best suits your needs.

Happy New year!

If you really need to call and the person you need to talk to isn't online then you can either use a VoIP service or cheap calling card. I suggest you take a look at Onesuite services as they both have calling card and voip services.

Otherwise, pick a time where you can communicate with your love ones online so everything is free except for the internet connection.
